Match Preview: UCC Ladies V IT Tralee
Our Premier squad will be kicking off their league campaign tomorrow evening as we will be hosting IT Tralee.
We caught up with Premier Coach Paul Dunton ahead of the game to get his thoughts.
“We are all looking forward to the 2015/16 season and the challenges that lie ahead. Our aim is to improve on last seasons results and finishes. Having reached our 3rd Inter-varsity Cup Final in 4 years, We were narrowly defeated by 1 goal to nil by UCD. We aim to go one better this season and win the Intervarsities. Our league position is an area we aim to improve and will look to build a very competitive squad to help us achieve our goal. First up is a home tie against IT Tralee. Previous seasons has seen some very competitive games and this will be no different. We expect a physical game with either side giving very little away.”
Training has been really positive so far this season, everyone has been really focused and concentration has been great in all the sessions. We’ve set out clear goals this year and want to achieve them all and that has really been driving the motivation to get into the starting team. A myriad of new players have also joined the panel this year which in turn has really strengthened our Premier squad.
Our game will be kicking off at 6pm at the Mardyke Arena Sports Complex. Be sure to come along and support our ladies as they go in search for their first three points of the season. #UCCABÚ
